ABOUT

Nicole Peters MSW, RSW

Hey, I'm Nicole, a Registered Social Worker Therapist with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers and an approved Blue Cross Provider. I have a laid back and relaxed approach to therapy with a little humour sprinkled in when appropriate. Who says therapy can't be fun?  But rest assured, once we have developed a strong therapeutic relationship, I will gently challenge thoughts, behaviours or perspectives that may not be serving you, and help you lean into difficult and uncomfortable emotions so that we can build your path to healing, brick by brick. Although my approach is more direct, I strive to make therapy feel like you're talking to a friend but with professional knowledge and evidence based approaches. I break therapy down into practical strategies to incorporate into your day to day life because I am a big believer that small manageable changes build to create long term sustainable change.


In my personal life, I have a love of travel (especially anywhere warm) and experiencing new things. In my spare time, I love spending time with friends and family, hiking with my dog, exploring new restaurants and learning to play the guitar.

Trained in EMDR Therapy (which is a highly regarded and widely accepted Trauma Therapy).

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Certificate, Level I and Level II: CBT for Trauma 

 

Certificate in Trauma Counselling for Mental Health Professionals, Level I & Level II

Registered Social Worker, Therapist with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers 

I draw my expertise from working in a variety of mental health and therapy settings, providing mental health counselling for over eight years. I have experience working with military members, working professionals and within correctional institutes.
